take a break

It was really not my plan to have an early vacation, although I was so stressed out because of everything that was happening in work, it did not come into my mind to take a leave. But due to the series of family gatherings and other stuffs, I had to do it. And boy! I really enjoyed the almost 3-week long vacation :)

First stop was the Abaya-Hernandez Grand Family Reunion. It was a 3-day event organized by Ninang Jackie Manzano and our relatives in Candon Ilocos, Sur. It was really fun and very memorable moment. I really enjoyed the food, the pasalubong, the give-aways, my cute cousins and of course the balloon ceremony!

A side trip from our reunion. I insisted to go to Vigan, although it was really a long drive from Candon (i think its just because of my dad's way of driving), I really enjoyed the view, the historical background incorporated to those landmarks and the mere fact that I had the time to go on a trip like that with my parents.

The day after I got home to Manila, I went out with Cindy Almazan. She asked me to accompany her to go  to Paco park and Hidalgo, since it was her last week in Manila, I granted her request. After our series of adventures, we met up with Miko, Ian, Rose and Mheanne. Then we went to piggy wiggy to have a couple of booze, unfortunately, I was fasting on beer as a sacrifice for the Lenten Season.  But it was really fun, and I learned a lot from Miko and Ian :)

I really felt guilty not spending the Holy week with my parents and spent it with my cousins instead. But it was the perfect time to think, reflect and talk to God. We first went to Lago de Oro, to do wake boarding. It was a very extraordinary experience, for someone who does not have an active lifestyle, it was really a challenge. Damn it was really hard, but sure it was fun! The next day we went to church just to say a prayer and then that afternoon we went to Burut beach. Since it was a Good Friday, we just stayed in the shade and there I was able to think and reflect. The touch of the sun's rays, the roughness of the sand and edgy feeling of the bamboo bed made me closer to God and realized the sacrifices He did for the salvation of mankind. On our third day, we went to Playa calatagan, it was really a very nice and posh place and it was the perfect place to have a summer getaway!

The whole week served as a rest for me. I just spend it at home or in to the gym. Sleep or eat. It was really nice :)

Last day of my core leave I spent it with my bestfriend. Sauna time! :)


Therefore.....
I considered my core leave as a journey in search for happiness. A lot of things were missing, but I know I'm with God and all the things that are happening and has happened are His plans for me. I'm thankful for the blessings He has given me. That time was really a time off from work and from the real world. Indeed, it was a time for my friends, for my family and for my GOD.
